MICC

Supercharged Formula

What it does

MICC is a supercharged version of the standard B12 injection. Choose this one if you want to break down fat and reenergize from the inside out.

What is in it

Methionine. Helps break down sugars and carbohydrates and convert them to energy. A building block for protein synthesis.
Inositol. Converts food to energy. Also has a calming effect and has been shown to reduce panic attacks.
Choline. Supports healthy nerve cells, cuts muscle recovery time, and helps convert fat to energy.
Cyanocobalamin (B12). Increases energy and metabolism, and plays a key role in normal brain and nervous system function.

Common Questions

B12 or MICC, which should I get? +

If energy is the goal, standard B12 does the job. If you also want support breaking down fat, MICC adds methionine, inositol, and choline on top of the B12. Both are $35, so it comes down to what you are after. Ask your provider when you come in.

How often can I get one? +

Monthly is typical, though it can be repeated as often as you like. Many patients build it into a regular rhythm rather than treating it as a one-off.

Does it hurt? +

Not meaningfully. It is a small intramuscular injection into the arm and the whole thing takes about five seconds. Most patients are surprised by how quick it is.

When will I feel it? +

Many patients notice a difference within a day or two. How much you feel depends in part on where your levels were to begin with. If you were low, the change tends to be more obvious.

Can I add this to another appointment? +

Yes, and most people do. It is short enough to sit alongside almost anything else you are booked for. Just mention it when you schedule.

Is this the same as IV therapy? +

No. An IM injection is a quick shot into the muscle and takes 15 minutes. IV therapy is an infusion delivered intravenously over about 45 minutes, with a larger and more varied formula. Different tools for different goals.

Do I need a consultation first? +
