HALO Laser

Years of sun and ordinary living leave a record on your skin. Sun spots, fine lines, and a glow that quietly went flat. HALO uses two wavelengths at once to trigger your skin's own healing response and bring that back.

HALO laser resurfacing at MK Aesthetics in Minnetonka

What HALO Targets

HALO goes after years of accumulated damage rather than one isolated concern, which is why patients tend to describe the result as looking like themselves again rather than looking treated.

Wrinkles and fine lines

Softened as new collagen builds through the dermal regeneration phase.

Discoloration

The uneven patches that foundation has been evening out for you.

Sun damage

Spots from summers you stopped counting, cleared rather than covered.

Enlarged pores

Reduced in appearance as the skin surface renews and tightens.

Visible signs of aging

Treated across both the surface and the deeper layers at the same time.

Scars

Reduced in appearance through dermal remodeling rather than covered over.

“
You used to choose between a result worth having and a recovery you could afford to take. HALO was built so that choice stopped being necessary.

The MK Approach to Resurfacing

You Choose the Intensity

Everyone's skin is different and so is everyone's calendar. HALO is customized to both, and that is the part most people do not realize they get a say in. Each wavelength is tuned independently, the 2940 nm from 20 to 100 microns at the surface and the 1470 nm from 250 to 700 microns in the dermis.

A lighter treatment

Back at Work Tomorrow

What you get

Smooth, vibrant skin that is ready for makeup the next day. The right call when you have a normal week ahead and no room to hide.

Trade-off

Less correction per session. Several lighter treatments spread out will get you to a similar place over a longer stretch.

A deeper treatment

Worth a Few Extra Days

What you get

The result people notice without knowing why. More correction in one session, and the kind of change that holds.

Trade-off

A few extra days of visible downtime. Plan it around your calendar rather than squeezing it in.

What to Expect

Here is the honest version, start to finish, so you can plan around it rather than find out as you go.

Before

Thirty minutes to an hour ahead, your provider applies a topical anesthetic. The treatment area is then measured with motion tracking so coverage is even rather than estimated.

During

Your provider rolls the handpiece over each measured section until the system registers the treatment as complete. With numbing and integrated cooling, most patients feel heat and occasional prickling rather than pain.

First 24 hours

Keep your skin protected exactly as your provider instructs. You will see very little change on day one.

Days 2 to 3

A light bronzing appearance develops. This is the part that looks worse before it looks better, and it is supposed to happen. Makeup can go on after the first 24 hours.

Days 3 to 4

Your skin peels and the new skin underneath comes through.

Weeks 2 to 3

The greatest pigment improvement lands in this window.

Months after

The dermal regeneration phase keeps working. Skin quality continues improving for months, and with a real sunscreen habit the results hold for years.

HALO Plus BBL

These two get paired constantly, and for a reason. They work on different problems, so running them together covers ground neither one reaches alone.

What HALO does. Combines ablative and non-ablative wavelengths in the same microscopic treatment zone, which is what lets it correct deeply without the downtime that depth usually costs.

What BBL adds. BBL targets pigment and vascular concerns with intense pulsed light, and it moves fast enough to cover the body rather than just the face.

Together. Total skin revitalization with minimal downtime, correcting multiple concerns in as little as one combined treatment.

The typical plan. One to two corrective HALO treatments and two to three BBL treatments, then maintenance. Your provider will set the actual numbers against your skin.

Comfort. Numbing cream and cool air through the handpiece for HALO. BBL is fast with minimal discomfort and usually needs no numbing at all.

Makeup. Twenty four hours after the combined treatment.

Common Questions

What results can I expect? +
HALO is a complete skin revitalization treatment. Expect a reduction in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, reduced pore size, a significant clearing of discoloration, and a return of the reflectivity that reads as glow.
How many treatments do I need? +
Most patients reach their goals in one to two treatments, which is the point of a hybrid laser. Older non-hybrid technologies typically need five or six sessions to show comparable results. Beyond that, it is partly your call: one or two more aggressive treatments will get you there faster, while several lighter treatments spread out will get you to a similar place with less disruption each time. Maintenance is usually a HALO or MOXI treatment once or twice a year.
What does it feel like? +
With a topical anesthetic and the handpiece's integrated cooling, most patients report very little discomfort. The common description is heat with occasional prickling. You will stay warm for another 15 to 30 minutes afterward, a bit longer with deeper treatment levels.
How soon can I get back to normal? +
Protect your skin as instructed for the first 24 hours, then resume normal activities. Only a topical anesthetic is used, with no nerve blocks. Makeup can go on after that first day, which is useful during the bronzing and peeling stretch on days two through four.
When will I see results? +
Initial results land between two and five days. The greatest pigment improvement shows up in the first two to three weeks, followed by a dermal regeneration phase that keeps improving your skin for months.
How long do results last? +
Years, provided you protect your skin with UV sunscreen. Every additional HALO treatment builds on the last. Skipping sunscreen is the fastest way to undo what you paid for.
How is HALO different from HALO TRIBRID? +
HALO uses two wavelengths. HALO TRIBRID adds a third and puts all three in a single handpiece, which widens the range of concerns treatable in one session. Both are offered here, and your provider will tell you which one fits your skin and your goals rather than defaulting to the newer machine.
What does it cost? +
HALO starts at $1,650. Every treatment is customized to your skin and your lifestyle, and your provider may recommend a single treatment or a series. A consultation is required before booking, and that is where your provider builds your plan and your price.
